A Message from 8A English

This term in 8A English, we have been studying the novel, Once. Students have thoroughly enjoyed reading the emotional and jaw-dropping story that follows the journey of Felix, a young and naive Jewish boy living in Poland during World War 2. Students have learnt about the importance of narrative conventions in creating a good novel as well as how the themes and issues of hope, friendship and courage can relate to the world we live in today. This term we are incorporating a range of creative learning styles to make English more fun and engaging for students. The students have created beautiful notes and pieces that they have put together in their English Art Folio.

“We learnt about the book Once in a fun and educational way” – Rawnaq
“We made a very beautiful art folio which we can keep forever” – Fatima
“We learnt how to write essays” – Zainub
“We explored different types of oral presentations” – Khadeeja
“We LOVE English” – Mariam & Zena
